The work team from Canada

We had a awesome week with this team. They had two dentists along who worked on the children’s teeth all week long while the rest of the crew helped in the kitchen, laundry room, did cleaning, helped with deliveries, worked on building the wall, and of course holding and playing with the children.IMG_9431IMG_9433IMG_9444IMG_9447IMG_9448IMG_9466IMG_9483IMG_9487IMG_9489Oscar and I making Pollo Gringo for Fondacion Sion where we took the team on Saturday to visit a home.IMG_9492IMG_9502IMG_9508 IMG_9531

On the way to pick up the team one mourning I had my camera along and thought I would take a picture of one of the really nice buses that are decked out and also have big truck motors in them!IMG_9322IMG_9325This team wanted to go Zip lining so we took them to a place close to Antigua. I also got to go with because someone paid my, whoever it was thank you. Anyways they drove us up some pretty rugged and steep trails to get to a place where we could go across the canyon and back. I took my camera along and got some pics as I was zipping across the canyon.IMG_9326IMG_9337IMG_9341IMG_9342IMG_9345IMG_9352IMG_9363IMG_9365IMG_9400                                                                                                                                                                  And of course they always have a security guard to keep the tourist’s safe from robbers.IMG_9233I will post more pics later of the wall we are building around a 16 acre orphanage called Casa Bernabe. But for now here is a picture of how we have to clear brush and pull out stumps and then dig a level spot to so we can drill holes and set the posts. After we set the posts we fill the holes with concrete up until the bottom row of blocks are sitting in concrete. The next day we can slide the blocks in between the posts.IMG_9401IMG_9403IMG_9404                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 Anyone hungry for meat?IMG_9406                                                                                                                                                           We made 120 pounds of pollo gringo (chicken bbq) for a orphanage on saterday with the team.IMG_9408IMG_9413We took the team to a orphanage operated by Nuns for special needs children on Sunday after church. This is a catholic home and when we first started helping this home with our food program they were not very open to us bringing teams into the home but now we are able to bring teams in to visit this home and by God allowing this we are able further spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This place was donated to them 11 years ago and in the last picture you can see a pool that was on the property. They would love to have the pool worked on and modified so that they could use it for therapy for the children. We would like to find someone who would be willing to commit to a period of time to pay for the maintenance and electric to operate the pool if we would remodel it for them because they would not be able to afford it.IMG_9415IMG_9419IMG_9420IMG_9421IMG_9422IMG_9424IMG_9426IMG_9427
